How to spend a Halloween at home?

Halloween ideas needed...?

  • My 13 almost 14 wants to have a Halloween party this year. So I told her we could fix up our carport for her a party. But I want it to be more then just a party. I want to fix up my back yard as a scary haunted yard. So the kids can do a walk through and have fun. But I don't know how to start. It's a gated yard. I don't plan on doing the whole yard cause it's 3/4 of an acer. But at least part of it. I found a great way to make a coffin out of foam borad you can get from home depot. I thought of hanging some old sheets up to separate the areas I want to decorate. My older daughters going to check on an old mannequin that's broke and can't be used except to throw away. I thought that would be pretty cool to dress in bloody looking clothes maybe holding their head or make it look as if it was being operated on and fix noodles to look as if there coming out of it like their intestines. I don't want to spend a lot of money so if you got some cool ideas that would be scary for the kids and not to costly please send them my way...thanks

  • Answer:

cut the stomach out of the mannequin and cook spaghetti noodles and put in there with red food coloring in it so when someone touches it they think it's guts.. and cut the top of it's head off and put some in there hanging out so it looks like brains. and cut a hand size hole in the bottom of the back of the mannequin so when someone goes to stick their hands in it have someone grab their hand.. also i make witches brew out of sprite and grape kool aid and put dry ice in it so it makes fog all the kids love it and i freeze grapes so they float and kids think they are eye balls

you could get some sort of hard material that could be great for grave stones, like styrofoam. then you could fake hands that look like their coming out of the graves, get a fog machine to make it look really scary, moss around the gates and some creepy back round music would also be great. or you could make a story line about how a family that used to live in the house before your family was murdered and was hacked to death in the car port and now buried in the backyard and every night at a certain time they can be seen walking around searching for revenge. that would creep me out if the people holding the party did the whole thing great. i hoped i helped!!!

Maybe some black rags and some red paint will be good.

I'm a film maker, so I go all the way with this kind of thing. Here's a good trick. A black light makes everything look better. Strobe light's are good. Also a fog machine. (this is assuming this is a party in the dark)

Get Halloween wallpaper. You always need a-lot of spider webs. Have a table and a pot of candy on it. To make it sound scary, have a DVD player and put scary music; make sure to hide it. Also put small things like fake mice on the floor. Decorate outside too. Customs are important. Fog machines are needed too. Make sure to visit the Halloween stores.
