Stuff to do in the summer holidays?

Are the summer holidays too long?

  Interesting topic. MY Son thinks that the summer holidays are a bit too long. That is because after about 3 weeks he is bored. And if we have no going on holiday planned during that time then he does not like it. He says its' good to be home when weather is good but it can seem too long to be off. My Son says he would like to have the holidays split between christmas and summer. He would like to have 4 weeks and christmas (instead of the 2 he has now in UK) and 4 weeks in the summer (instead of the long 6 weeks in UK). My son also said being off for longer at Christm,as would be great especially as weather also bad.
