Fun things to do during the holidays in LA as well as during other times of the year?

• What are some fun things to do for the holidays in LA? Im kinda new to the LA area and I wanted to get some recommendations as well. And if you have future suggestions aka not during the holidays, that's fine too :) About me: Im in my 20s. I live in Hollywood. I am interested in sports, shopping, small quirky neighborhood activities. I make sure i do something new each day so trying new things is something I am totally down for - whether it be networking, partying, eating, etc. Thanks in advance!

  I lived there years ago. There are lots of parties all of the time. My husband and I would go to dinner in Chinatown on Christmas. We loved to walk down Hollywood Boulevard or Ventura Boulevard on Christmas Morning or New Years Morning - or any place that is usually crowded and just enjoy the quiet. You can go to the beach, or hike in Griffith Park. There are dog parks around the city if you have a dog and just hang out with the locals. We also liked going north to Santa Barbara for Christmas. Solvang is nice; San Diego and San Juan Capistrano too! In the week between Christmas and New Years Eve, you can go to Pasadena and see the floats being put together; Pasadena has a residential area full of Christmas decorations if you are so inclined to see that - it is called Christmas Tree Lane - Woodland Hills has the same thing only with Candy Canes, but lots of people like that, and you may end up in a bumper-to-bumper situation. You can go to UCLA or USC and just walk around the campuses with everyone gone. And of course, Pasadena has lots of stuff going on for the Tournament of Roses. The sky is the limit in Los Angeles for almost any activity except snowman building or skiing. Enjoy!
