Why is Italy the favourite country to visit in Europe fot the tourists?

    I don't know if Italy is THE favourite destination but if it is I can think of some reasons: 1. It's a Medinerranean country and that means sun and sea. That is almost heaven for people living north. I think almost all Medinerranean destinations are popular because of that. 2. There are a lot of historical places to visit. Rome itself is like a museum. Everywhere you turn your head you see ancient remainings. 3. When girls visit Italy is like they died and went to heaven!! Armani, Fendi, Cucci....Need me to say more??? 4. The food is incredible expecially the paninis. That is the word for the Italian sadwitches. Pizza, pasta u name it. 5. It has beautiful men. 6. It has beautiful women.

I'm not too sure that it is the most visited country. It is beautiful though and if you are a traveler and can afford it, it definitely is worth seeing. It has a wonderful mix of old and new, historic and contemporary in its art and architecture. The foods and wines are legendary. The shopping is wonderful, though rather expensive. The weather is great most of the time. The people are fun and seem to like Americans better than some other countries. The scenery can be spectacular with its mix of mountains and seashore, vineyards and cities. I was there for a short time about 15 years ago - would love to go back for a longer vacation when I can.

I didn't know that, but its my fav country in europe anyway because it is beautiful and there is so much to do and so much to offer for the old and young.

It's not *my* favourite place, but why not?! All the art work, the Roman ruins, the history and the food! One reason it's very popular is for the Catholics, who go to see the Pope and the Vatican.

I would love to go to Italy, but I would rather spend my money on going to Germany, Ireland, and Scotland. Seeing how those countries are part of my family History. I'm also part English but I have no desire to go to England, but i might as well while I'm in Scotland seeing how they are a territory of the UK.
