Help with a mothers day gift?

  • as you know Mothers-Day is coming up. I really want to do something nice for my boyfriends Grandmother(she raised him, so shes like his Mother) I have thought about making her dinner or buying her flowers, but I want to do something that shows I really care about her and appreciate her for what she does for my boyfriend and I....any ideas? (Iam also on a tight budget)

    Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling. This is a really beautiful poem too! Women have strengths that amaze us. They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up for injustice. Send your boyfriend and her out to dinner alone. While they are out, clean her house for her. She will appreciate the time spent with her grandson, and the clean house.

how about a multi picture frame with pix of them together,or a tabletop top album etc...

take pics you have and make her a photo album, you can cut the pics in different shapes and write little somethings on a strip of paper by the pic. like a pic of the three of you at the park, could say "day at the park, wonderful weather-date" use your humor and have your bf write things too. pics are inexpensive and she can look at it anytime she wants. you could also crochet a rag rug for her kitchen using old clothes from him and you. you tear the clothes into strips and try to put like colors together and tie them in a knot, then roll it into a ball and get a large crochet hook and a pattern you can get on-line probably. then make a rug. another idea similar is to make a throw blanket out of old clothes. my mother recently passed and i am cutting her clothes into stars and making a small throw to cover up with when i sit out on the porch. you can find lots of things to do that are very personal to someone if you use things that mean something to them, and give it from the heart. hope your gift turns out great, lily

How about throwing her a bar-b-q party and she be the guest of honor for mother's day, complete with a cake? You could invite her closest relatives and friends and even some of your & your boyfriend's friends. I think she would be really touched by that. You could even get some baloons for decoration.

I was gonna say get her a gift certificate to a Spa, any and every mother can appreciate that, its a good way for them to relax and get a massage, get their nails, feet done, a day for them to finally be pampered!... But if you are on a tight budget then cooking her a nice meal that day will be wonderful, make sure you cook something she likes, not her favorite dish because it may not be as good as she makes it but be extra attentive that day, get her some balloons and a nice touching card!
