Sydney has an oceanic climate, but with multiple dust storms could it be borderline semi-arid?

Australia has a climate that is dictated by cold ocean currents from Antartica. This means that the water off Sydney in summer is often still very cool to cold. It means the west coast of Australia is desert while the think band on the east coast is fertile. In reality Australian land is very marginal. Dust storms are the result of drought in the west and storms blowing the dust in. Because the fertile bands doesn't extend far west from Sydney, this is not that hard. So Sydney doesn't produce the dust. But you can sit in a cafe in the sunshine in the bluemountains and watch it rain in Sydney. Sydney often suffers from water shortages, because while it is raining heavily in Sydney there is little rain in the Catchment area to the west. So Sydney is Oceanic, but the rest of Oz is dry as an Arab's jock strap.

Multiple dust storms? lol,I have been here for years & only seen one & that was a few months ago & caused by the drought in the west of the state.No Sydney is not semi arid!It is a typical coastal city with several rivers running through & around it,with storage dams. Only in very extreme drought conditions is our water supply affected.
