How to get Australia PR/ GSM Visa?
-
I am Indian resident and I want to apply for PR visa. I am 26 years old, occupation on SOL & MODL, 1.5 years of recent work experience, cleared IELTS academic exam with overall band score 7. My queries: 1. Which is the surest, cost effective and fast way to get Australia PR? (Student Visa- study- PR / Work experience- GSM visa- PR) 2. Whether IELTS academic exam is accepted for migration purpose? 3. Is it possible to get GSM 175 visa without 3 years of work experience (specific employment-10/5 points)? 4. Does higher marks in point test speed up the Visa process? ...Thanks in advance!!

Answer:
1) GSM PR should be the best PR as you can stay and do anything once you have granted the Visa. 2) The DIAC doesn't assess on what module of your IELTS. They just suggest to do with GT module. However, I am very sure that they accept academic module too. FYI, the DIAC doesn't look at your average result. They need a minimum of at least band 6 in each of the individual part. If you could score an average of band 7, or even 8, with a part that is score band 5.5. You are fail and have to re-take. 3) minimum requirement is to work for 12 months out of 24 months. Without this, you are not eligible to apply the Visa. Having 3 years of working experiences will only award you more points. So, You don't have to worry about this. 4) The speed of Visa processing depends on state sponsorship, SOL, and MODL. State sponsorship award you extra 10 pts and let you speed up your application about 2~3 months. Then it will come to MODL. However, you will need to stay in that state of which is sponsoring you for 2 years of time

1. If you were starting from scratch, obtaining your qualifications in Australia over at least 2 years of academic study while on a student visa would be the fastest and most efficient way. If you already have your qualifications, the only way to speed the process is to have state government or relative sponsorship. The visa processing priorities for GSM visas are: 1. Applications from people who are employer sponsored under the ENS and the RSMS (a few weeks to a couple of months). 2. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government and whose nominated occupation is listed on the Critical Skills List (CSL) (6 monthd or so). 3. Applications from people who are sponsored by family and whose nominated occupation is listed on the CSL. (12 months or less) 4. Applications from people who are neither nominated nor sponsored but whose nominated occupation is listed on the CSL. (15 months or so) 5. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government whose nominated occupation is not listed on the CSL (3 years) 6. (i) Applications from people whose occupations are listed on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL). and (ii) Applications from people who are sponsored by family and whose nominated occupation is not listed on the CSL.(over 3 years) 7. All other applications are to be processed in the order in which they are received. (4+ years) Onshore visas are granted roughly 12 months faster than offshore but of course you must qualify for an onshore visa to be able to apply onshore. 2. IELTS Academic is acceptable 3. If you can score sufficient points, a GSM visa is possible with only 12 months of work experience unless the skills assessment body for your occupation requires more experience e.g. the ACS demands at least 4 years for Computing Professionals who qualified outside Australia. Some people however need 3 years experience in order to score sufficient points. 4. Once you have reached the pass mark, higher points have no effect whatsoever.
