You might have to stop in Sydney to get here, but for a few more hours you might save hundreds of dollars. Look at www.kayak.com. Figure out your flight times from Los Angeles (for instance) and use kayak to figure out the least expensive domestic flights to get you to LA for your flight (allow at least 3 hours in LA before your flight out).
