What medical book is studied in medical school?

Racist new zealand school!!?

  • Hello, I'm a Korean-American, and I read this article on a famous Korean website called Nate. After reading the article I got really upset, and I really want to help her. But this happend in New Zealand, and it's still in the process. So can anyone help me here?? This is my SECOND time asking this question, not many people read it because it was too long. But really, do you really want to put up with this? Really? Why? If we don't stop now, it might get worse. What if that girl kills herself? Don't you want to save someone's life? Please, read it, at least try to show some sympathy people! All you guys said was I can't read all that. or well, I'm sorry to hear that. But there is nothing we can do. Seriously?? If everybody was like that during times of slavery, we might still have slavery going on ! If nobody steped up and said "Look here, this is not right.", this country and this entire world would still suffer from disgusting discrimination. Hello, I'm seventeen years old, and I'm currently studying in New Zealand without a guardian. I have been attending this private boarding school for about three years, and I'm 11th grader. But as you know, New Zealand school system is quite different; it has 13 years. Anyway, since I've already finished the 13th grade level of math, I get to have free time when other students are in Math class. I remember, at exactly 10:40, which ends the tea time, I moved to the library. I studied there under the guidance of a librarian and a teacher. But this one librarian kept suspiciously looking over at me and I felt really nervous. Plus, I really had to use the bathroom, so I left. After using bathroom, I had to go back in there because I left my book. As soon as I walked in, the librarian lady asked me "Where are you from?" So I answered, "I'm from Korea." She was like "I knew it." I was thinking that she probably knew how to tell Asians apart. Then, the teacher, who was previously in the library with me but left right before I did, ran yelling at me, calling me a thief. Then, she snatched the book away from me, and then, told me "Listen, this does not happen at this school. do you understand me?" I said, "Huh? What are you talking about you?" She was like "This is exactly why we don't want international student." I kinda got upset, and yelled "What are you talking about?" She got mad as well, and she was like "You little impolite mess, what grade are you in? What class!?" Then, I apologized, and she was like "this is not the time for you apololgize! I will make this as little as possible, bring my wallet back!" I was really shocked, and told her I don't know what she's talking about. Then, I found out that while the librarian was working in the library, the teacher went to office, but came back to find her wallet gone. The librarian told her that I left the library, looking really nervous. So the teacher checked the camera installed in the library, but all that was on the video was me, the librarian, and the teacher. So without any evidence, she blamed everything on me just because I'm not from New Zealand, and I'm an internation student. She was yelling at me, "I will give you one minute. Bring my wallet." There was nothing I could do, I didn't steal. I kept telling her I didn't. But She didn't listen, after about 15 minutes, the police and principle walked in. I was about to cry, without even asking me if I really did it, the police went through my stuff and searched my body (I'm not sure how I can put it.) Of course, they didn't find anything. Although the didn;t find anything, the called me a thief!! I tried to hold it in, I kept telling myself it's okay although they all called me a thief without any evidence and the police searched through my body!! Then, my homeroom teacher came in, and gave me that look,. I still remember it clearly, the teacher asked me why I did it, and tried to talk me into giving the wallet back. She, too, did not ask me once if I did it. She just concluded that I did it. After a discussion, they decided to call my parents. Although I wanted to prove to them that I didn't do it, and although all these questions just give me a chance, what evidence do you guys have filled my mind, I couldn't. Because I know that they are not going to believe me. The next day, the entire school knew about it. All these kids, even my freinds called me a thief. You have no idea how humiliated and devastated I am right now. Now that the Christmas break started, they kept putting it off. I don't know what to do. All these hurful words they said about me and my country really pierced through my mind, deeply hurting me. I don't think I can handle people turning against me. This is the article I read. I translated them. To me, this is a pure act of racism and discrimination. They do NOT have ANY evidence to blame everything on her. This is obviously a false accusation. Can anyone here help her here? If you wish, I

I am an American, and it surprises me that this story came out of New Zealand, but I think this is a case where they honestly think this girl stole the teacher's wallet. It is one of those cases where she needs to stress repetitively that she could not do anything because she did NOT steal anything, and that it is ever the more unjust to her that she is facing such widespread accusations. I think it would be much harder to prove that this is a discrimination case, but here is my advice to you in how you can help. 1) Take the article you just put on here and shorted it as much as you can. Make it clear and professional. I could help you edit it The shorter it is, the more it will be read. Make it something you can put on any bulletin board. And put it on people's windshields, file for a permit to put it on town bulletin boards, everywhere you can find. 2) Use the internet to contact the town in New Zealand, the school, or as close as you can get to the victim of this accusation (send emails, use phone numbers, write snail mail). Also Find if there is a group out there helping her. If there is, JOIN it. If there isn't one, make a myspace or facebook group IMMEDIATELY and invite all your friends to join onto it. Label it "New Zealand Discrimination against Exchange Student". 3) After polishing 1) and 2), contact any lawfirm in yellowpages.com that specializes in international law. Use this to get information about how to get this girl an attorney or legal representation. 4) Use this information to post to your facebook group or yahoo group, or myspace group, and then start a fundraiser to get this girl the representation she needs to take this case to the courts. 5) Lastly, your aim is to call journalists, identify yourself, get as many news journalists to post articles about what you just told us. 6) Aggressively follow up on the results. If you contact me by email (add me as a contact), I will try to help you as much I can.

It's still really long but I read it. I don't believe it to be an honest account of what happened.

I agree with Captain - this sounds like a made up story. A stolen wallet would not result in police even coming to the school to question you. Also boarding schools in NZ are very small - after 3 years there every one would know your name (including the maybe 2 librarians on staff) so they wouldn't ask you something basic like "where you are from" that would have been asked, if at all, the first week you came into the library. This article I am sure will shortly appear on Snopes with a variety of countries listed I am sure.

We do not have grades in New Zealand. And the police wouldn't come and search you just because someones wallet was missing, and I doubt the WHOLE school would have hated you just because you 'took' the wallet. If it was caught on video, then the librarian would have seen that you didn't take it.

That makes me so sad, i almost cried reading it. I'm actually a bit teary right now... but i have no idea how to help her. Is there some special anti-racism organisation she could get to help her? I don't see why she went to NewZealand, she should've went to Australia. Not only are the schools better here but nothing like that would happen here.

I read it. All I can say is the facts are in the least sketchy in detail and at most far from factual in parts. Perhaps the 'discrimination' is leaning not towards the Asian student here, but towards the European host nations instead. Have a proper look at the content with real eye for fact and detail. No, I am not a heartless cold hearted lifeless conscience and heart - just a realist who happens to have many Asian ( and other race) friends.

wow really long... well lets see this happens everyday in the US black people are accused of doing anything bad. While in New Zealand there is one girl why don't we help out the millions? and maybe she did it you don't know i mean she is only one in library makes sense right its not really racism considering she only one in library and then suddenly teachers wallet goes missing im not saying cause shes korean but i mean comon really? just wrong place wrong time maybe
