Is it better to get travel insurance?

Should i get insurance for qantas domestic travel or not really?

  • hi i would like to get some advice here about travel INSURANCE. my family will be flying to melbourne from brisbane 4 adults together. Flight in total cost $1111.96 AUD with domestic qantas. Should we all choose insurance or not really? When i went travel alone to melbourne i did got insurance but the insurance did not do nothin for me but i spend insurance just incase the plane falls down... But dunno if insurance is a big must for domestic when it is only 2h and 30min travel. Plus not all insurance do what you believe...... so there should be different types of insurance to choose from.. cheapest to the expensive one. Oh though i would hate to see a high price all together with airline. But yeah your advice ? each person carrys a carry on bag and perphaps 2 of us takes 2 luggages. thats about it.

    You are kidding me.... I would suggest you save the money which you would be paying for insurance. The plane will not "fall down" --you are wasting your money.

Personally I believe insurance is unnecessary when flying domestic, if the plane were to fall down as you put it the insurance would be of no benefit to you anyway.

For domestic travel not really worth it, unless you are carrying something expensive in your luggage that you want to insure, but if possible that should go in your hand luggage so you can keep your eyes on it. On the other hand, for overseas travel it is a must, as medical bills alone can be crippling even for a minor injury or sickness, especially in America.

Never had any problems flying Ansett, Qantas, TAA, Virgin, Jetstar, Skywest in Australia without insurance. Never had any luggage lost in any flight. Perhaps might be different on International flights.
