What is living on Hamilton Island like?

Daydream Island vs Hamilton Island?

  • A group of us would like to go to the Whitsundays in November this year, but i'm having trouble deciding where to go! They'll be 6 of us, ranging in ages of 20-30. We're after fun, good night life, pampering, good food with plenty to do. Prefer no where full of either honeymooners or kids! (No offense to either of course!) Looking at either Daydream or Hamilton Island at the moment. Brampton is out due to cyclone yasi and Hayman is out also, too exy and more for couples. So who's been and which is better?

    Daydream Island from my own experience,is family friendly. I haven't been to Hamilton island,so I can't compare the two. Daydream has a great swim up pool bar and the nightlife is OK... The putt putt course is amazing. The rooms are nice, clean but nothing too fancy. The food is well,very over priced.Be prepared. Has a great day spa,but once again be prepared for the prices. Be prepared to pay for some activities (or the hire of equipment).Although they claim to be all free,they are NOT. Other advice,for both Islands make sure transfer fees are taken into account.Don't get stuck at the dock forking out more money to get to your island. Luggage,make sure it's securely locked with a padlock of some sort.Why?.When we got to the island,one bag hadn't been padlocked and was missing a few items...

Gisell, take it from an overseas traveler (from Canada) I found Hamilton Island to commercialized, I was very impressed with Daydream, not just activities, but the night life also. I was on the Island for just over a week, and from Daydream, I was going on day trips to other Islands, and also snorkeling on the reef. If it hasn't changed, the cold seafood platters, were out of this world, never seen or had that much in one sitting.
