What countries have you lived in other than the UK?

Australia or the UK.Who has lived in both Countries? What are the pros and cons.Which is best now to bring a?

  • Family up with teenagers.

  • Answer:

I've lived in both and prefer Aus, better lifestyle, better climate and I think better opportunities for kids, outdoors lifestlye. Only thing is, if you come here you will probably be able to buy a better house for your money and will not wantor be able to go back and enter the housing market again in UK as you would have to considerably downsize on going back! (But you wont want to go back)

I lived in both countries, and though England will always be my 'home' Australia felt like my hearts home. It is so much more relaxed and the people seem to take things easier, but with all that natural beauty and habitats surrounding them who can blame them! There is so much opportunity for the youngsters too, much more than in the UK, and with less crowding and more job opportunities its a double bonus if you ask me... If I could I would be there this instant... Best wishes to you and yours... x

i live in Western Australia even though im British born i went back to the U.K in 1997 for 13 weeks holiday, and it was lovely all the heritage is preserved, but i must say i prefer to live in Australia, weather here is great you dont freeze your butt off , and if you have children they will love the beaches here, schooling is great Western Australia is an easy place to find your way around its clean and lots of room. i have lived in Sydney and it is cramped , for housing and schools dont have much of a play ground. Queensland id beautiful my son lives there but the climate is too humid for me i always visit in winter there hope this has helped you out

Wherever the kids wont regret you taking them! Let them be part of the decision making/process and if one REALLY doesn't want to go don't - it is their life to and it could just end up causing a rift between you and them and or cause some anger in them.

Many facts need to be taken in to consideration. Personally I say Australia to live. But that depends where you live and your job. I bought my children up near the Lake district of England. They had a superb up bringing and the local school had under 20 children and they got individual treatment. They finished high school and 2 went to Uni in NZ and Australia. The University of Western Australia was great and my son did well . My older son had left his heart in England for the country that is and went back and is bringing two children up there but would love to come back here now his wife is frightened so they haven't. But Australia has been great for my other two . I love the hot weather although it can get awful for to long if you live near the beach and not in the tropics it's fabulous. So really it depends on what circumstances you get your self into. And how independent and wise your children are to the move.
