Is it hard to transfer over a nursing degree obtained in Australia to Sweden?

Nursing degree in new zealand or australia?

  • I am planning to move to new zealand or australia next year (still undecided) and want to do my nursing degree. is there a way to get funded to do my nursing degree or do it part time whilst working as a health care assistant in a hospital...much like the way you can through open university in the uk. or is the only way to do it at university and pay full student fees??

  • Answer:

An Australian Full time nursing course can actually be done in 2 or 3 days per week, if you can get your modules lined up correctly. Fees will be about $10,000 per semester. The course may be 2 or 3 years depending on what qualifications you already have. During your free time you could get work as an aged care worker, if you do the Aged Care Cert III course, which can be completed in 6 weeks, at a cost of under $2,000

I can only answer for Australia, but there, you will not be able to get any Australian government funding for your course and you must pay fees at international rates. On a Student visa, you are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week while your course is in session and unlimited hours during official course breaks, but you MUST carry a full time study load at university - you cannot study part time. There is no other visa on which you could study nursing. http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/chooser/ Student visas
