How can I extend my tourist visa for Australia which is only permitted me to stay for 3 weeks in Australia?

    If you applied for a 676 Tourist visa and were given one that was only valid for 3 weeks you can apply to extend your stay while you are in Australia but only if your original visa does not have a No Further Stay condition 8503 - you cannot apply for another visa while you are in Australia if you have an 8503. If you can apply for another visa, you must lodge a new 676 application at least 2 weeks before the original visa is due to expire - it isn't possible to extend the original 676. You can apply online, in person or by mail - in person would probably be best if you can get to a DIAC office. http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/676/ http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/australia/ DIAC offices
