I want a 2nd Working Holiday Visa to visit Australia again but do not meet the requirements, however...?
-
In 2010 I went backpacking in Australia, I was granted an Australian Working Holiday Visa. After 3 months of traveling and working in a cafe I got news from home. One of my best friends suddenly died aged 18. I flew back to Europe immediately to say goodbye to him, I was one of the coffin bearers. Now, months later I'm still in Europe because I did not have the courage or money to fly back to Australia immediately after his funeral. My visa is still valid but only for three more weeks. My question is: would it be possible to fly back to Australia to do farming work or construction work to earn my second working holiday visa while my first one is not valid anymore? Do they make exceptions in general? I mean... I did not finish my trip the way I wanted to and I stayed only three months instead of a year with a very clear reason. His death is not my fault and I felt obliged to come back to Europe for the funeral which made it impossible to "earn" my 2nd working holiday visa. Any help would really be appreciated because there's nothing I want more than fly back to Australia to re-do and properly finish the most beautiful trip of my life.

Answer:
Nope, that won't be possible. You get one shot at a first WHV. It doesn't matter how long you stay or why you leave - if you don't do 88 days of 'specified work' in a regional area during your first 12 months, that's the end of it. No second chances. No exceptions. You could have stayed in Europe for 4 or 5 months and still have enough time to come back and meet the requirements and you chose not to do so.

Even if you did do what is suggested above it will not help. There are no exceptions to this rule - you had ample time to travel back to Australia after the funeral if you truely wanted to - but you did not. Sorry but that chance has now gone.

sorry to be harsh but you had many months to return to Australia to do the rural work ,there are no exceptions for the WHV but no harm in trying i guess

Put it all in writing, include any documentation you have showing dates of your previous trip and anything you might have that verifies your attending your friends funeral (eg a order of service) attach your letter to an application for a working visa - there are always exceptions in any situation!
