  • Answer:

Your wife is here, your sister in law is here and Immigration know this. They rejected a visitor visa because they know or strongly think you are NOT a genuine tourist but want family reunification and will not leave. Coming on one visa then trying to get another shows your true intentions at staying. Immigration Australia have seen it all before , about a ga-zillion times. They also use this forum for a lot of information so now you have exposed your plans, qualifications and ideas.Your application will include the details laid out above and Immigraiton , who use so many sources, this one included, will know your intentions.

You don't say why you had your visitor (tourist?) visa rejected, so it's a little hard to answer the question in that regard. I can tell you that it is quite difficult at the moment to get a student visa into Australia - there are a lot of applicants for them. Contact Latrobe though, and they can give you a better idea of how to increase your chances of being successful. Having a wife living here will give you a better chance.
