• i have just passed my BTEC national diploma in Child Care Learning and Development (UK), in the future i am hoping to move to Australia and get a job in childcare. If there's any information anyone could give me on the kinds of jobs i could get with my qualification in Australia, any information on nursery nurses in Australia or anything else that may come into use please could you let me know thanks x

  Only Childcare Coordinators (people who direct the activities of a child care centre or service) are eligible for Australian immigration so I'm afraid that your diploma won't qualify you for an immigration visa. Perhaps in a few years when you have more qualifications and experience and can qualify under that occupation. http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/c/child-care-coordinator-1295-11.htm You could however get a 12 month Working Holiday visa and probably won't have much trouble finding childcare work while you're here on that visa. You can work at any job in any location but for no longer than 6 months with each employer.If you do at least 88 days of 'specified work' (fruit picking and other seasonal and/or farm work) in a regional area during your first 12 months, you can apply for a second 12 month WH visa.
