Skill assessment re-validation?

Skill Assessment(RPL) re-validation.?

  • hi i did my skill assessment one year back by providing RPL report, because i have degree but not relevant to the job. I have mathematics degree but work as a software engineer. I was granted J2EE specialist last April. I knew last January changes have affected to the RPL assessment, under this circumstance , if i re-validate assessment , will new changes effect to my case ? chanaka.

  • Answer:

Computing Professional - J2EE (2231-79) is still on the Critical Skills List (CSL) and the ACS is still issuing skills assessments based on that list. If you apply for revalidation and pay the fee, there is no reason why it should not be granted. One change that will affect you is that the MODL has been scrapped and points are no longer available for MODL skills. You should check the current points test to see if you still have enough points for the visa you intend applying for. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/175/eligibility-applicant.htm You should also be aware that a new Skilled Occupations List (SOL) will be released this month to take effect from 1st July and new points test will also take effect soon, probably from the same date. At the same time, the CSL will probably begin being phased out. At this stage, there is no way of knowing how the new SOL and points test will affect people who have not lodged visa applications before the end of June.
