What's the cheapest car to insure?

Am going to New Zealand Next Year wondering whats the costs to buy a used car and the Insure and register?

  • Answer:

nz has got the some of the cheapest jap cars in the world , you can get a great runner for 3 to 4k and even cheaper if you know where to look . depending on how much your car costs will have great bearing on your inscurance , for full coverage i was paying 350 nz dollars a year , you can get third party which will be a third of the price and will cover you for fire ,theft, and if you hit someone. also in nz we have thing called "warrent of fitness" this is a standard your car has to be to be on the road , your car gets tested then you get you 1 year for new cars 6 mnths for older ones, this comes in the form of a sticker , and is cheap to do. then maybe $120 to reg your car then your on your way . ps it is illegal to sell your car in nz without a current warrent of fitness .

I was in NZ once in 2000 and purchased an old 1993 model jap car which cost almost 20 grand. I thought these people done gone crazy. A used car like this back in the States will be given away. Expensive in NZ :(
