What is the best way to obtain a visa to the UK for Egyptians?

I have a friend who would like to visit the UK and he is Egyptian? What are the requirements and the best way for someone from Egypt to visit the UK without difficulties and what proofs would he need to establish to get the Visa from the UK embassy. And what if he has a US citizen that can accompany him there, and would his US citizen friend make a difference in getting him a visa? Please let me know if you can Thank You in advance.

He needs to apply through the nearest UK consulate and prove ties to Egypt (a job, family, property, financial stability) so that his return is not questioned. Everyone applies on their own and having someone with him will not "better his chances" of obtaining a visa.
