How to get work in the WA mines?

• My partner and I are looking to move to Western Australia to work in the mining industry. I know it's tough to get work but I have quite a few friends that have done it, so it IS possible. I will most likely get an office or even retail job somewhere else, but Aidan wants to work in the mines. He is a qualified air conditioning tech but there are no air con jobs online. What is the best way to go about it? Go over there and knock on doors?

  if you have friends working in the mines they would be the ones to talk to there is lots of work in Kalgoorlie,my son and his G/F both work in the mines there(she had no experience at all) and is making just as good money as my son
