What new public holidays do you think Australia may get in the future?

Well I'd love to see the country become more secular. So if I have to endure the Easter long weekend, then I should be allowed to have a nice day off to celebrate Eid, Chinese New Year, you know, start with the biggest things from the cultures that have influenced our way of life here. Maybe we could have an Indigenous Australian public holiday, too. Then we could possibly appropriate Halloween to make it something about community spirit; visiting the neighbours then doing fun things with them like parties and haunted houses. We probably won't get any new public holidays though :| Even if we do have one of the lowest public holiday rates.

As so many people are were against my comment, on Should same sex marriage allowed in AUS, " No, its not natural" Mardi Gras for sure! Yew! Now we will soon hear about man raping man! yew!

Holidays that we might get (if the republicans or greenies have their way): Presidents day. Earth Hour day. Holidays we might lose (if the republicans, athiests, greenies or CEOs of major corporations get their way): Easter Christmas Queens Birthday Holidays we might get if the Asia Pacific region turns into the Asia Pacific Union (if Kevin Rudd and his kind have their way) just like the European Union has become: Chinese New Year Asia Pacific union day

We should declare a holiday the day we lose what's left of our manufacturing sector to China and Vietnam. A few more holidays, and one or two more pay rises should do the trick!

I'd like to see a holiday to mark the day that Kevin Rudd ascends up to heaven to take his rightful place beside his father.

Uncle Cyril, you Australians have more public holidays than we do, and your guys are looking for more. Sheeesh
