Does New Zeland, a country with a population descended largely of Europeans, these habits too or had adapted te meat to the climate of the summer? I´m sorry if my english isn´t good. Yes unfortunately as far as Christmas goes, NZ is a former British colony and has inherited most of Britain's traditions. They're great for winter weather but don't really fit in high summer. So for most people it's still Turkey or Pork roast, and sometimes Lamb, Chicken of Beef (sometimes corned). There is a shift to warmer weather food for Christmas such as cold ham, cold corned beef, cold cooked chicken and seafoods with appropriate summer salads but it seems to be gradual. It's changing faster with puddings though. The traditional hot and heavy English Christmas pudding is disappearing and being replaced by fruit salad, trifle and the Pavlova (NZ's iconic pudding). I thought you Argies might eat fish or seafood for Christmas like most Italians do. I know it's a former Spanish colony, but don't most of you and the Uruguayans also have Italian ancestry? I've always though fish would be ideal for an NZ Christmas dinner. Maybe it will be someday... Anyway, feliz Navidad!
