What are some of the highest-paying jobs in Australia?

How is the IT market going in Australia, if there are enough jobs in IT fileds apart from sydney n melbourne?

  • Hi, I am looking forward to shift to Australia.I am a Automation testing guy.I would like to know if there are enough jobs available in australia for testing and automation(preferable in tcl scripting etc).Also, as migrating to sydney and melbourne is not open, if the other cities like perth, queensland also have ample jobs or not? Any kinda help is appreciated. Thanks mates!!!!

    No city has ample jobs at the moment and there is little demand in your specialty outside of the major cities and not much in them either AFAIK. If you're not a NZ citizen, you will be pushing to get a work visa in anything under several years unless your specialty is on the CSL/MODL: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/migration-program.pdf (Current visa processing priorities including links to CSL and MODL). If you're not sure which classification your occupation will come under, refer to the ASRI list: http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/a-z.htm#c If it isn't on there, you are simply not eligible for an immigration visa.

If your willing to travel it's amazing what you can find- jobs everywhere. I'm 1.5hrs to closest town and we get you guys out here too! P.S. Queensland is a state not a city

IT industry is still going although end of last year alot of companies made staff redundant. If you want better chances on finding a job ensure you have sufficient certifications ie MCSE, CCNA, CCNP's as well as your university degrees - this is the main driver for most employers. Check out seek.com.au and type in a cert - you'll see what i mean.
