What is the weather like in Sydney during September?

SYDNEY RESIDENTS: What's the weather like during september? Is it hot or cold usually?

  • I'm going to sydney during the september school holidays and I want to know if it will be cold enough to wear long jeans? Or will I need to bring summer stuff? Will it be over 30 degree's? If you could give me an idea of the temperature that would be great :) Thanks

    September is a hard season to be honest, in the past we have had some considerable heat waves, not like we have in the summer but substantially hotter then the average. The average should be early - mid 20s with the nights still in the teens. But as I said September has a frequency to have a few hot days in the late 20s on occasion. I would bring predominantly spring clothes, layers are a great idea. Jeans, perhaps one or two summer bottoms and some short sleeve tshirts that you have put a thin jacket or cardi over. I don't think I would bother with swimmers, though check the weather just before you go for a better idea. September is usually what I can a comfortable month, where no matter what your wearing (extremes exluded, no ski gear or bikinis) you are usually comfortable.

It will be the beginning of Spring so some days will be warm, some will be cold, some will be wet & some will be dry. Average temperature would be about 20C I reckon. Bring your jeans rather than shorts anyway.

Well winter finishes in August so it wont be that hot, But bring some shorts so u can hit the beaches if there is a hot one.. But even then people wear long jeans.. It starts to heat up around Mid October and on wards..
