Camping in NSW, please help?

  • does any one know any good camping spots in NSW, but not to far from sydney CBD (about 4-5 hrs driving max). the camping place must have a place for fishing and must allow camp fires (open). thank you

  • Answer:

When I go camping I always go to places like Port Macquarie, Manning Point, Harrington etc. They are like 4 5 hours away from Sydney. And they have GREAT fishing spots, especially Forster-Tuncurry.

I'd consider heading over to the Hawkesbuy river area. It's not too far from Sydney & has really good scenery. The area has quite a few water ski parks, some which have camping facilities, at reasonable prices. The place I camped out was the NSW Ski gardens. http://www.waterskinsw.com.au/skigardens.php It's an easy walking distance to the town of Wiseman's Ferry, which has a few shops & a really nice pub. And, I'm sure there would some good fishing spots along the riverbank as well.
