Free bush camping in the Blue Mountains NSW?

There are many opportunities to camp in the bush along short bushwalks around Katoomba. And there are longer bushwalks, like i did one from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves (3 days) and we camped for free along the way (2002). Check with Environment NSW to make sure the camp ground you choose is free. http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/NationalParks/searchCampgrounds.aspx I am now living in Queensland and i experience that in Qld national parks you have to make a booking on the internet or over the phone, and they charge a little bit, like $6-10ish a night, not sure if NSW national parks' camp sites are still free.

Id recommend you go to Black heath camping grounds good spot next to the river water is usually cold well it always is urm im n ot sure about the fishing unless you want eels and more eels with the occasional trout and yes you can have a camp fire at black heath but really usually when we go out there we just find a nice area next to a river where other people dint camp some times we find a spot within 30 minutes although once we spent 8 hours looking for a decent spot its all up to you mate
