Camp counselor jobs or summer jobs?

Summer camp or lifeguarding jobs in Sydney Australia. Please help?

  • I am considering moving to Sydney Australia or at least staying for a considerable amount of time and I have experience working as a summer camp counselor and lifeguard here in the USA. I would love to apply for such jobs starting in Dec and Jan (Summer in Aus as I understand) However I have no resources, contacts, ect. Please help. Thanks :)

    As pointed out in the answer to your previous question, Australia really doesn't have a culture of kids going to summer camps, so the job opportunities there might be quite limited. Lifeguarding on the beaches is organised by the surf life saving clubs, who have an umbrella organisation of Surf Life Saving Australia. I am not sure if these are paid jobs, but I assume that at least some of them would be. They might be a worthwhile place to start anyway. Note that being a surf life saver on a surf beach may require different or extra skills to being a lifeguard in a still water environment (pool or lake).
