Taronga Park Zoo is a must. take the ferry across then the bus or cablecar to the top and walk down through the zoo back to the ferry. From Circular Quay, walk up to George St past the Fortune of War Hotel. Turn left at Argyle street and walk up through the Argyle Cut under the bridge approaches to the Garrison Church. Cross the road and climb Observatory Hill to the Observatory. It is very quiet and peacful in the park, so different from the bustling city. Walk down the Hill to the Lord Nelson Hotel which brews its own beer and from there head to the Hero of Waterloo. Those two pubs have a constant battle as to which is the oldest in Sydney. Stroll down the the Bridge and back on to George St and back to the Quay. Start under the Bridge and follow the shore round to the Quay past the Overseas Passenger Terminal and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Keep going to the Opera House and continue through the Botanic Gardens to Mrs Macquarie's Chair. In any pub in Sydney look for the free newspapers which will list entertainment of all types and for all tastes at venues across the city. Use the Sydney Explorer buses. Buy a ticket and get on or off anywhere on the route. This does the art gallery, the museums and many other places of interest. Travelling further afield, buy a day ticket for all the trains and buses and some ferries. Take a trip to the Blue Mountains around Katoomba. Visit Jenolan Caves. Take a tour of the Hunter Valley and wineries. Go to the top of Sydney Tower (it is a lot cheaper than climbing the Bridge). Take a ferry to Manly and a Rivercat to Parramatta. Go and see the Sydney Swans playing Port Adelaide on Sunday 20 May at the SCG or Essendon at the SCG on 2 June or Collingwood at the Olympic Stadium on 23 June.

You have to go to the beaches and hang out! right now, i think the summer there is just about finishing, so you might want to go sometime soon.

May and June would be the start of winter. So during this time, I dont think you are too keen to go to the beach. For outdoor activities, I would suggest the following: 1. Go to The Rocks for some historical building. If you walk right at the end of the rocks you will arrive right under the Harbour Bridge and nearby is Sydney Dance Company. During weekends, The Rocks will have market stalls selling australian painting and art crafts. Plenty of foods around and free music whole day. 2. Close by to the Rocks is Circular Quay, meaning you are not far from the Opera house. Spectacular views, plenty of foods around and abundant of public transportations to take you around. 3. Visit Darling Harbour. This place is nearby chinatown. Again beautiful views, lots of foods. Outdoor attractions are common during weekends. 4. If you must visit the beach. Dont miss going to Coogee and Bondi beach. They are very popular with tourists. 5. If you and your girlfriend not afraid of height, must do : Bridge climb over the harbour bridge. 6. Take a cruise along the harbour. These can be organized from Darling Harbour or Circular Quay area. 7. Lastly, if shopping is on your list, dont forget to visit pitt st mall, the strand arcade, all shops along Oxford st, Paddington market (only weekend) and Westfield Bondi Junction. If you plan to do things outside Sydney, I suggest you book a tour and go to Hunter valley for some wineries and other nice places such as Blue Mountain, Port Stephens, Port Macquarie, Jervis Bay on the South and so on.
