How can my friend find a job in Australia?

  • my friend is from the Philippines and she's almost graduating college taking up Bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant and resort management..she wants to work in Australia..in hotels..as a supervisor or manager?..or a job related to her course..she is very fluent in English and not to mention, she's a very hardworking person!..its her dream to work in Australia...please help! thanks.

    the only way she can come to australia is if she is skilled in an occupation listed as needing workers,she must have at least a years experience in the said occupation to immigrate as a skilled worker

She can't work in Australia without a work visa and in her field, the only visa she will ever be eligible for is one with employer sponsorship. She will not find employer sponsorship or be granted a visa unless she has at least 3 years experience as a Hotel or Motel Manager. Darkblue, I would be very surprised if she got a managerial job straight off over there. I would say the best way to do this would be for her to send her resume, to big chain institutions, also look at the island resorts on the Whitsundays.

Her only real chance (given she is from a country that has a high reputation of visa overstay and fraud) is to work her way up in the Philippines preferably getting a job in an international hotel and working her way up to manager. Then she could apply to take over as manager in the Australian or other countries once she has experience.
