Hi! Firstly join your local drama group, acting classes, school acting classes, local theatre play group etc, (Most small towns in Australia have such things, even in the farming towns - check your local newspapers or go to your tourist/town information booth). Next after you have spent some time training for a few years try to get into a University to study an Arts degree majoring in drama, communications etc. If you stick with it (And you need to be serious about this as acting is the hardest industry to get into if you don't know anyone) you can then find yourself an agent in Sydney or Brisbane if not possible then go to your nearest larger city - Melbourne, Cairnes, Newcastle, Perth etc etc etc (Have no idea where you live but go to the closest.) You also should look to move to Sydney in the future if your serious, there you can join numerous agencies at the same time whom offer extra parts in movies and TV. Just check job vacancies and newspapers. You will also have to try to get yourself into NIDA acting academy in Sydney, so you will need years of practise before this as it's highly competitive. Some links you will need are: http://www.foxstudiosaustralia.com In Sydney, they offer acting classes and screen tests at a price, you should also contact the fox studios information via email and just state your from a small town your very serious and would like to have any advice at all about how to get into acting, agents, internet websites where you can post your head shot and details. There are a few websites where actors post there details on which some casting managers at fox studios do look at to find new talent. I don't remember the address and don't have it with me now but if you email them and if you soound sincere and serious they may take the time to email you a short list of sites and details to get you started. http://www.nida.unsw.edu.au This is NIDA, it is part of University of NSW and actors such as Mel Gibson and Nicole Kidman have attended this school. Don't stress if you don't get the grades or the interview and performance to get you into the full time course because you can also pay for short courses I would recomend 100% you need to call or email them for a brochure to be sent out to you because after you have completed this training you will be able to get those few small roles in acting that will allow you to break into the industry. Hope I've helped you out! AND NEVER EVER PAY ANYONE ANY MONEY WHOM YOU HAVE MET THROUGH THE NEWSPAPER AS REPUTABLE AGENCIES DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY JUST YOUR HEAD SHOTS AND RESUME!.. DO NOT BE FOOLED. STICK WITH THE TWO WELL KNOWN REPUTABLE LINKS ABOVE AND TAKE THEIR ADVICE. PS I just figured out from your previous posts you live in northern QLD. OK, so in Brisbane, Gold Coast you sometimes have programs such as Big Brother etc, they advertise in Newspapers local newspapers in the employment section for new TV shows. The adds sound STRANGE... such as.. are you in for an adventure? can you take a few months out of your life to experience something new etc etc and so on. Apply to these (WHEN YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH :) and sometimes it's a new TV program shot on the Gold Coast. Next when your older try for a job at Warner Bros. Movie World, a few now famous Aussies prev. worked there. There are pleanty of Agencies and acting classes in Brisbane that you can do when you are older and then later you can move to Sydney after you have tested yourself in the Brisbane acting section. But overall you must be highly comitted and be realistic in your hopes and dreams, acting is NOT a glamourous job. It's only glamourous for a few hours once or twice a year.. the rest is hard work and struggle. View it as a life goal and part time love, and keep at it and you will break in. Firstly act anywhere you can because practise makes perfect and casting agents look at your resume in particular TRAINING. Lastly, for a stable future and becoming an actress you need to focuss on your education. You must obtain a degree in any career you wish - business, arts, communications, fine arts and so on, acting/drama can be your major or minor in your degree. This way when you move to Sydney you will be employed no matter how your acting is going (Noone likes to be a starving actor! As there are many.) I read your prev. posts and I can see this is your dream and you may not listen to anyones advice.. it's hard etc LOL.. so my best advice to you is get that degree, study your heart out, practice your acting anywhere in drama clubs, theatre groups etc. And get as much training as you can - Just please remember to get the degree this way you will be able to earn an income even in Public Relations, Communications, Broadcasting industry and so on while you chase your break. This way you can sustain the continuous effort you will need to catch that dream. :) A ridiculously long post but important since your so young, I had thought apart from spending hours training and acting with local groups (this way you can see if you love it or not). You should also ask yourself what it is that attracts you to acting. Is it travel? money? fashion? If you can pinpoint what it is that you love you can also decide some alternate careers you can take up along the way. Flight attendant, Travel agent, Retail, Designer, Photography/Print shop, this way you won't ever get caught out if you decide acting wasn't for you after all. Be careful what you wish for you may just get it and sometimes you didn't realy want what you thought you wanted. Reality is always different than what we expect - and remember never take a casting personally, some people can be rude, arrogant, or just ignore you, simply you may not fit that part and you need to be thick skinned and never take it to heart, the industry can be superficial at times just keep your head screwed on and study hard. Secret Insider Tip - Start now go to your library and DVD store and borrow ANY/ALL shakespear movies and scripts. You NEED to know how to understand and interpret these, this is University work however, I do know NIDA does use some shakespear lines to test there student intakes. If you start at a young age and study, undertsand, practise with friends, family etc and realy get into it you will never be caught offguard when asked for this in Sydney. They may simply hand a sheet to you of Shakespear and say off you go do this right here and now. So be prepared. Also try to get a grasp of accents from a young age, you can do this in a simple way, watch and copy do it aloud you can't be shy if you want to act, (It's funny but it will help) - search accent in google and you will find some wonderful sites on how to copy accents. At school try to excell in English, Drama and take up French or Italian, later in life it could help you - learn now. PRINT this answer out, as I do know you may need to refer back to it along your way to see where your at and take step by step because I know you may not hear the truth like this from many other people, not even if you pay for it. So keep this print out with you.
