How much does it cost for an australian student visa? how much is the living cost in sydney for a student?

  • i was hoping to apply to an australian university hopefuly in NSW. i was wondering how much money would it cost to apply and the whole process. also how much money do you have to show in your bank account? anybody done it recently? can you give me as much information as possible. also i was wondering whats the average cost to live in sydeny for a year as a student, i wont be going out much, maybe every 2/3 weeks or so. i dont drink alcohol. i would like going to the beach alot. not thinkinbg of buying a car just yet. thanks

For additional financial requirements, select your country of citizenship and type of course on the following link as they vary according to your Assessment Level which is determined by your country of citizenship and type of course - see under Eligibility. http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/chooser/ You'll see on the financial requirements that you will be required to have at least AUD$18,000 per year for living expenses but that won't get you very far in Sydney unless you live in very basic shared accommodation with many other students and live very frugally.
