Are nightclubs open over Easter?

Will shops and services be open in Sydney Australia over Easter 2012?

• Hi, my wife and I are traveling in Australia next Easter, and will want to spend some time in Sydney, but we don't want to be there if everything is closed. In the UK, where we live, almost everything is closed on Easter Sunday, so any advice id shops, services and museums will be open over the Easter weekend would be great. Also, we won't have a car, so will need trains and buses to be working too. Thanks in advance Paul

  The two days of the year when just about everything is closed are Christmas Day and Good Friday. Pubs, clubs, museums and most shops are closed then. Sundays, even Easter Sunday, most things are open including museums and galleries. Small shops will be closed but some of the larger ones will be open and big shopping centres will be open although not all shops will be. Sydney is a popular tourist destination so it doesn't close just because it is Sunday. Public transport works on a reduced timetable at weekends because there are fewer people needing it but you will still be able to get around easily, particularly in the city. Opening times of museums etc will usually be listed on those sites.
