Are there any very cheap hotels in Sydney?

Cheap hotels in Sydney & any advice for east coast Australia?

  • Me and my girlfriend are staying in Sydney for 4 days next month, could anybody recommend somewhere to stay based on the following please? Must be quiet, clean and comfortable. We dont like to stay places where its going to be loud all night. Must be fairly central and near to central train station. Must be cheapish. We will be doing a fair bit of travelling so we need to save as much as we can. But we dont mind spending out if it means we get a decent bed to sleep off the jet lag. Also, can anybody recommend some good things to do/see/eat whilst staying in Sydney? And anywhere else down the east coast for that matter :)! We have also been told that down the east coast there are a alot of free-to-use barbeque's for the public to use, how true is this? Any help on any of the questions i have asked would be amazing and much appreciated. Thanks world!

I'm very sorry, i don't really know any cheap hotels in Sydney. What to do in Sydney, Cruise around the Harbor - amazing views, Visit Darling Harbor, Dine at the Center Point Tower where there is a buffet and the views are spectacular. Climb the Harbor Bridge :D There are free-to-use barbecues but I think you have to bring your own coal or something, not quite sure about that one. Enjoy your trip down under!

Hi, for cheap hotels I suggest the website I used for my travels: http://www.viamundis.com/en as you can see in Sydney http://www.viamundis.com/en/hostels-australia-hotels-s.html (go to the hostel section to find also inexpensive hotels, you will find maps, photos, reviews and a very practical use, all in real time). Have a good trip

The cheapest accommodation around Central is backpacker hostels. If you don't want to do that, you can find cheap hotel rooms using Wotif http://www.wotif.com/ There is plenty to do and see in Sydney, you should Google "What's on in Sydney" to see what will be happening while you are there. There are plenty of links, here's the City of Sydney link http://whatson.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/ There is a huge range of restaurants in Sydney ranging from good to excellent and cheap to expensive. If you want to eat well but not expensively, go into any bookshop or Newsagent and buy a book called Cheap Eats. For the best food check out the Good Food Guide. I think both might be on line too. When travelling, if you are looking for inexpensive meals, pubs and clubs are the best bet. RSL clubs are found everywhere and most have good, cheap food. There are barbecue areas in parks in many areas but before you light one anywhere, check to see if there is a fire ban on. Bushfires are horrendous and happen every year at this time. Always be careful lighting any fire and if there is a fire ban, don't even think about lighting one.

A great place to eat in Sydney is China town. Get an all day pass that takes you on buses ferries and trains. Go to Watsons bay on the ferry .The fish and chips are mean't to be good there or take the River Cat to parramatta. Go out to Bondi Beach. I've given you a link to see what to do. here is another link for the central Railway hotel I believe it is ok there . A budget hotel /motel
