How to become a travel consultant?
-
I am currently a receptionist/service co-ordinator for a forklift company. I would like to enrol in a course (outside of work hours) to become a travel consultant to work somewhere like flight centre. Can anyone provide me with information on how i can best go about this? I currently live in Townsville Australia, but am moving to Sydney. Also... any ideas on how much this occupation pays? Thanks.

Answer:
I did a travel and tourism course years ago at TAFE, and fees are pretty resonable. Check their website - http://www.tafensw.edu.au/

Pay is low. A lot of this is automated and/or piece work. It's tough to get ahead if you're not already big. However, if you are still interested, you could hook up with one of the bigger outfits and become a service rep/sales person and probably not do worse than your current job.
