What should I pack for a weekend in the mountains?

Is there anybody in Sydney not going to the blue mountains over the long weekend?

my wife and myself wanted to go to the Blue Mountains for the long weekend as our plans for Hobart fell through but there is nothing available? not just a motel im talking a nice apartment or cottage anything from 300-500 a night every place on the internet is booked out that weekend WTF and they say people don't have money

It's "My wife and I", not "my wife and myself".. Lol and I'm not going? I went to Blue Mountains when i was really small and it was actually really boring while I followed my parents around and they just stared at things..

I'd give almost anything to be going to the Blue Mountains over the long weekend, or any time! We went last year, and I completely fell in love with the place. I could happily live there forever. Unfortunately, you're right, you have no hope, sorry! I checked the accomodation website we used, which was excellent and had listings from all of the local real estate agencies, and there really is no availability for that weekend, not even in the lower Blue Mountains area. Sorry Daryl! Hope you and your wife find somewhere wonderful to spend the holiday.

June is the beginning of the Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival (which runs until the last weekend in June and is then replaced with the Xmas in July Festival). June and July is the high season (not just the weekends) so accommodation is very hard to find.
