What are the courses required to get associates in automotive collision repair?

How easy would it be for me to get a job in Australia?

  • Hi. I live in the U.S. and I'm a 19 year old man with an Associates degree in Engineering. I'm in my 1st year at a University here, just taking required courses for now. I haven't worked in the engineering field at all yet,as there are no available jobs in that field, where I live. I've just been working part-time at a grocery store stocking shelves and other duties, and this is my 1st job. I just graduated from high school last year, but enrolled in a program here that let me get my Associates degree, while in high school. Anyway, I'm smart and learn quickly,if that helps. I'd like to move to Australia this Summer, but have no visa,as yet,and haven't applied for one yet. Someone told me I didn't need one,or a Sponsorship. Also, I,m going to be moving in and sharing a place with a girl I know, in Townsville, how is it to live there,,and she's not my girlfriend and I'm not related to her,so how would I get to stay there? Should I just try a W&HV and check things out? Please let me know how my situation sounds. Thank you.

  • Answer:

Come to New Zealand, get your permanent visa, then move to Australia. Many people do that. It's a lot easier than trying to get in that way.

Just so you no,you have asked this question in Queenstown New Zealand, a totally different country but in the same general area....so to speak. If I was you Id finish getting my degree then try and get some work closer to home in that area of engineering so you have experience, stocking shelves isn't experience, but is a work history and that tells allot about a person, then try and get yourself into Aussie, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. Aussie is a nice spot, so good luck with that!

Yes I think your getting confused with New Zealand and Australia. The best advice I can give you is to get some experience in the field you have completed your studies in the US. There are many students in NZ who have gone back to University because they can't get a job here. The recession has affected a lot of people. There are many skilled people looking for work and the fact that you are young and will probably be on a visitors visa would not endear a future employer to your long term employment. You will need a visa and work in Australia probably could be achieved on a visitors permit. i'm not sure. Why not do a search on immigration and travel to Australia. I'm sure the web will have a massive amount of information there. Also check out jobs in Australia. Good luck

Lol then why didn't you put this question in the Australian section?
