Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Queenstown?

  • Looking at accomdoation for May this year.. I see the Hilton looks amazing with jacuzzis on your deck (well for the room we are looking at) but its 15 minute trip out of town. Was that a major for anyone? we will be hiring a car when there so no big deal I guess. I like the idea of being able to walk into town but heard its also quite nosiy to stay in there... Decisions...........just wondering if anyone has any first hand tips from staying thre and if they would or wouldnt again?

I haven't stayed there but I know people who have been to the restaurant there, and they were far from impressed. The service and food presentation was apparantly sadly lacking. The waiters / waitresses didn't really seem to care much about their jobs or customer satisfaction. Service in NZ is generally pretty poor and something we more often that not overlook. It's not all bad though, the setting is pretty stunning, being right up beside the lake.

Try Sofitel or Eichardts Hotel.
