Should I be worried about this spider bite?

I'm worried about bringing my dog to Adelaide or Perth, how likely is she to die from spider/snake bite?

    Spiders shouldn't be an issue as I don't believe the Red Back, which is worst we have in Perth, will kill a dog. It probably will make then sick and require vet treatment though. To quote the 'Alldoctors' web site: "As pets go, Guinea Pigs are the most susceptible to the bite of a Red Back. Cats come next and dogs are the most resistant to the bite, but they are certainly not immune." Snakes are a risk, but having had three dogs and walked them often in fringe bush areas without a problem, I don't think its a high risk. In fact the only snakes I've seen so far have been on the roads.

If you are bringing a dog to Australia from overseas I think you will find that it would have to be in quarantine for a long time. What the other posters said is true, if you live in the suburbs you will never see a snake and I have never known anybody's dog to suffer from a spider bite (not saying it doesn't happen). I live in Perth and I've always had dogs.

If your in a suburban setting its very unlikely that you'll ever see a snake and spiders are not such a big problem. On the city fringes or houses near bushland it could be more of a problem

she'll be fine i live in perth (well in a more suburban area though) and theres dogs everywhere. i dont think ive ever seen a snake in my life, and spiders arent really a problem for dogs.
