How would I be able to study in Australia?

How does NZ citizen get financial study aid in Australia?

  • I'm currently at second year uni at Auckland University in NZ and I really want to do my postgrad at Melbourne uni however I'm not eligible for any Australian study loans and have to pay the course fees up front. After calculating the approximate cost for the 4 years of study there plus living cost I just don't know how I can afford this. Even working while studying wouldn't enable me to pay off all this cost. Does anyone know where I can get financial aid for my study as a NZ citizen in Australia?

  • Answer:

Have you looked into the possibility of getting a loan from your government? You're definitely not eligible for one from ours. http://www.ird.govt.nz/studentloans/overseas/interest-free/ NZ government student loans when studying overseas

Other answers

Your best bet would be to contact the universities directly. Uni of Melbourne, Monash Uni, Deakin Uni, Latrobe Uni and RMIT Uni all have many overseas students so will be well versed in what is required.
