How to get into the railway service?

What was near Paisley Railway Station during 1960 to 1988? Melbourne Victoria Australia?

• I have seen an old photo of paisley railway station when it was in service but what was at the open field where the houses are and also what was that big orange building because it looked a bit like Altona Gate shopping center but it is not because the photo was taken while on the bridge the one near bunnings and paisley station. The city bound train would point towards the orange building to get to the city. I have used railway station instead of train station just to be more respectful and yes i do have an interests in railway history especially if it is in Australia. Thank you
