Where is the best/ most convenient suburb near Philly?

Where is the best suburb to stay along the great ocean road?

  • hi my partner and i was thinking of staying along the great ocean road for 2 nights i was thinking on our way down (which will be at night) we will stop of and see the glow worms and then get something to eat then go to our accommodation and the next day go to the 12 apostles and just shop around and have a wonder maybe we'll shop around on our way home im not sure yet anyway where would be the best place to stay (like a suburb or even if anyone knows any accomodation) that would be near these places but also isn't secluded :) thanks

  • Answer:

Lorne is a beautiful town to stay. I was there for a few nights last December staying at a friends house. Then there is Apollo Bay, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Port Campbell and others.

Firstly, there are no suburbs on the Great Ocean Road. There are towns, interspersed with bushland. Apollo Bay is a good place to stay. It's a couple of hours drive from Melbourne and within easy reach of the Twelve Apostles and all the other Great Ocean Road sights. There is loads of accommodation there as well as restaurants and shops. Lorne is another place worth checking out. A lot of the other towns along the GOR are pretty small with limited accommodation/food/shops.

Apollo bay is very nice-much nicer and a little more quiet than Lorne.Much more picturesque.
