Can I get into melbourne university?

  • Okay so im a senior in a public high school in the U.S.. I feel like I can get into Melboune University in Australia. But I heard if u are going to study oversees it wont work because undergraduate is only three years there whereas in the u.s. its 4. Does this mean I have to go to a college in the states for one year, or is there some type of way i can continue my studies in Australia right after high school (Melbourne Univ) Also i heard if u go to australia directly, u have to do something extra b4 college idk what though? And in terms of life style whats melbourne like?

    The Australian and American education systems are different. You have high school/college/university, we have high school/university. University entrance is determined by your results in Year 12, the last year of High School. We never call universities "college". If you are an overseas student paying full fees, the requirements to get into an Australian university are lower than for an Australian student. Even so, you must have achieved a certain standard. You should submit your school results for assessment when you apply. If the standard is too low for university here, you will need to do extra study to bring you up to the standard required.
