What's the best university in Melbourne?

Can I get into Melbourne Univ.?

• Okay so im a senior in a public high school in the U.S.. I feel like I can get into Melboune University in Australia. But I heard if u are going to study oversees it wont work because undergraduate is only three years there whereas in the u.s. its 4. Does this mean I have to go to a college in the states for one year, or is there some type of way i can continue my studies in Australia right after high school (Melbourne Univ) Also i heard if u go to australia directly, u have to do something extra b4 college idk what though? And in terms of life style whats melbourne like? Also for international students, is it easier to get in than citizen students? and is melbourne easy to get into in general? Also how hard is it to get into Melbourne and do they check for suspensions because I was suspended twice freshmen year but asides from that ive been perfect. Never gotten anything lower than an A is school and I take challenging classes

  All Australian universities like international students, because they have to pay full fees. I don't know that they'd be worried about the suspensions. Melbourne uni has recently moved to a new system called 'the melbourne model', and I think about seven Australian unis have done this. Many, many couses at Australian universities are 4 year courses, such as social work, psychology etc etc. This Melbourne model thing means they are encouraging students to go for a broader Arts degree first, that is a three year course, without the extra Honours year, then go on to specialise more at Masters' level. You should call up the admissions officer or a student course adviser at Melbourne and check it out. Melbourne is a great place to study, it's a lovely old university, which is not the normal sort of thing in Australia. We only have about three or four like that. The rest are all very different.
