Shipping company or moving company?

Moving from USA to Australia and need to ship belongings.can anyone recommend a shipping company & any tips?

  • Hi, my husband and I are moving from California to Brisbane, Australia. We have been looking around for a good shipping company to move belongings from our 1 bedroom apartment over to Australia. Can anyone recommend a cheap & reliable shipping company? Or any companies we should avoid? Has anyone done it and do you have any tips? Thanks :) Saz

    Hello. My brother is doing the same thing at the moment. What he done was ring up the airlines as you can get crates. He said that is the cheapest way for him to get as he has a 4 bedroom place. He said he has to take just what he really has too as he cannot afford to transport things as the price is to much. Hope this helps a little and good luck and i hope that things go well for you. Whatever you do, DO NOT use Seven Seas Worldwide - we had terrible service from them despite all the glowing references they have on their website (they are not going to put up the ones that are bad right!). They manage to loose some of our belongings before they even left the USA and then the shipment was over a month late. To add insult to injury I made a formal complaint to which they have never responded. They were one of the cheapest - I now know why!

Don't bother. All shipping companies are expensive and will lose or damage something. Have a giant garage sale, sell it all and start afresh once you get here!
