What is living on Hamilton Island like?

Would you recommend working at hamilton island??? any advice?

• Hi everyone! I'm looking at moving to Hamilton Island. After just spending the last 2 years traveling across Canada.I want to return home; save more money and keep traveling. I am just going to apply for jobs that suit, I just wanted people to share their experiences of working and living there and get enough information as possible; what is staff housing like, is it only for people in certain departments or locations Is staff accommodation really that bad?(I'll def need it after going broke in canada I'm using my last dollars to come home) Also, what do you usually do for food and grocieres Do you recommend it? I am a 22 year old Thanks!

  A lady friend of mine worked there a couple of years ago...as a cleaner..she loved it at first but after a while the shared accommodation got to her a bit,,but she did like the work,the atmosphere the tourists and the money,she also like the fact that she got to meet the bands/singers from the night life. As for food and groceries....a group of the employees would get the ferry to Airlie once a week/fortnight to do shopping. She did say the accommodation was good ..as long as you were compatible with your roomie. Times have changed so it may be all different now.
