Is Massey University good?

Taking nursing 1st year at Massey Wellington campus, then transfer to University of Auckland?

  • I'll live at home when I go to Massey, since it's close to me. However, I'd like to move out in my 2nd year and live away from my family (and way from Wellington, which I consider a small city) to gain more experience, and start fresh. Auckland University sounds like a good place to go. Opinions please.

It's definitely possible to do that, but it may make it a little bit tricky. I'd recommend emailing the Auckland University's faculty of nursing and explain what you're hoping to do. It'll probably be fine, but you should check to make sure they will accept your points from Massey. I'd much rather study and live in Wellington than Auckland, but I know the feeling of wanting to move away from where you grew up. Massey Wellington is a small campus but I haven't heard anything negative about the nursing faculty. It'd be far easier to make friends and settling in in a new city if you go in you go to Auckland in your first year. If it doesn't work out you can always transfer back to Wellington and if you've got friends in Wellington it'll be a lot easier. And I know for a fact that Massey Wellington always has accommodation vacancies. Write a pros and cons list and talk to your school, parents and the universities and see which is best for you. Good luck. ....
