How long does it take for a letter to arrive after being sent?

An important letter was sent to me (registered) from Ireland to England. How long will it take to arrive?

  • It was a normal business letter and was sent from a Dublin Post Office. Provided it was picked by a few hours ago in Dublin by the mail service, how long will it take to reach me in North East England?

  • Answer:

You are looking at 2 days usually. The fact it is registered doesn't speed up the delivery it just means its traceable should it go astray. Post from England to Ireland is slow at the moment, I'm waiting on a book posted Monday and it hasn't arrived in Cork yet, usually its 3-4 days max.

Other answers

It should be delivered next day, however it will depend on if there is Saturday deliveries in North East England. If the sender can give you the unique registration number, you can track it's progress online at www.anpost.ie
