How to get from East Kilbride to Kelvin Hall Sports Arena by train?

Best (cheapest) way to get from Dublin Heuston train station to the o2 Arena?

  • My son and his mate are off to a concert tomorrow night, they're getting a train up to Dublin but how do they get from the station to the o2 arena? They'll be arriving up in Dublin around 6.30pm I think? Is there a direct bus from the station to the o2 bearing in mind it's a Sunday night?

  • Answer:

The LUAS goes direct. Cost you about 2euro and will get you there in 15 minutes. Leaves from directly outside heuston and stops directly behind the point o2. Couldn't be easier.

The best and cheapest way for two fit young fellas would be to walk down to the Point O2. When they exit the station, cross over Kingsbridge and start walking down the quays along the Liffey wall. They will pass by, Queens St bridge, Capel St. bridge, Halfpenny bridge, O'Connell bridge, Butt bridge, past the Customs House and along to the O2 arena. It would take them about 45 minutes. It's a straight line, so they cannot get lost. There are a few buses running, which would take them half way, from Kingsbridge to O'Connell bridge, but they would be as quick walking.
