Is 1000 Euros per month expenditure enough for a comfortable life in Athlone, Ireland?

Depending on the foods you choose, groceries can be very cheap or very expensive. I spend way less than €50 a week for 2 of us. We almost never eat out, and nights out are only now and then. Telephone/broadband is about €70 a month, electricity €60, both paid bi-monthly. My big expense is the car. Petrol alone is close to €200 per month. Just to give you some idea of typical costs.

This is only €250 a week. You will be clearly way below the poverty line. Even in Athlone, your weekly rent and groceries will cost €200. On top of that you will have all the energy bills, for cooking and bathing and lighting etc, which will quickly gobble up the other €50. Where will the money come from for all the other incidentals for a normal life ? Do you intend to buy clothes, footwear, have a haircut, take a bus, have a date with someone. Then you are expecting to have money left over for occasional visits to pubs .! Sorry ! but you are grossly underestimating your financial needs.

No...I'm 17 and moving out of home next year to take a year out before college. You should be earning about 400Euro a week at least. Rent can be €600 a month for apartments as I have found from searching online. You need more money. That's only 12,000Euro a year.

Sure if all else fails just go to Sean's Bar and blow the lot.
